FAQs

What is a Hostel?

Hostels are establishments that provide informal, budget-oriented accommodation, mostly in shared dormitories. Unlike a hotel, they are mostly self-catering and provide fewer amenities. If you’re looking for a sociable, adventurous and fun place to stay, a hostel might be what you’re looking for.

Are bedsheets and pillowcases available?

Your bed will already have everything you need to spend the night: duvet, pillow and linens. This applies to all beds – in dorms and private rooms alike. There is no additional charge for these essential items.

Are towels available?

All the private rooms (double and twin) have towels included.

For guest that are staying in dorms towels are available for hire at the reception for 2€ each plus a 3€ deposit that will be handed back at the moment of check-out, if the towel is returned. That is, you pay 5€ for the towel of which 3€ you will get back when you return the towel.

Is breakfast included in the price?

A continental breakfast consisting of fresh bread, jams, butter, cake, cereal, fruit, tea, coffee, milk and juices is included in the price for all our rooms and tariffs. It is served daily from 7:30 to 10:30. If you have dietary restrictions or other preferences, you can freely prepare your own customized breakfast using your own food in our fully equipped kitchen.

What are the check-in and check-out times?

Our check-in starts at 15:00 and you must check out by 11:00. If you only arrive late at night don’t worry, our reception is open 24h. If there is an unexpected delay in your arrival or any extraordinary circumstances that may affect your booking we will appreciate you sending us a message so we can rearrange accordingly, to your satisfaction and within our policy.

Can I check in early? Is there an early check-in fee?

We can’t guarantee the check-in before 15:00, due to all the cleaning procedures. Therefore, we don’t have the possibility check you in early (even with an extra fee). We appreciate your understanding as we do our best to keep the hostel clean and organized for dozens of guests every day.

Can I request a late check-out?

Late check out is not available at any time. The small window of time we have to prepare such a large number of rooms doesn’t allow us to postpone the check-out. Failure to leave the room before the designated hour may result in extra nights being charged, even if you aren’t staying.

I prefer a different bed in my room, may I move to it?

If you prefer a different bed, please contact the reception before you move to it as it may already be reserved for someone else. We always try to resolve requests and provide modifications to customer´s satisfaction, if it doesn´t violate our policy or rights of other customers. If you change beds without first consulting our staff it may lead to disputes with other customers and unnecessary confusion. We secure the right to charge a customer for the extra beds they used (all that are not included in the original booking), even if they end up not staying in them.

Where can I leave my luggage?

We have a locker room available for all our guests. In case you arrive earlier that the check-in time, or depart much later than the check-out, you can leave your belongings there and enjoy your day. Guests are not allowed to leave their luggage in the room after the check-out, it will impede our cleaning and maintenance processes.

I’m travelling for a few days; can I leave my luggage at the hostel?

No, unfortunately our luggage room is reserved for arriving and departing guests. Allowing former guests to leave their luggage while travelling would quickly take up all free space. However, you can leave it for a full day after check-out, if you have a late flight, or in case you arrive early.

Can I leave valuables at the reception for safekeeping?

No, unfortunately we don’t keep any personal items at the reception. All guests are responsible for their own valuables and belongings at all times. There is a separate locker for every bed and some extra lockers in the luggage room that you can use upon availability. You can bring your own padlock or purchase one at reception for 3€. This should be more than enough to guarantee safety of your personal belongings. Our staff does not take responsibility for the loss, damage or theft of any of the guest’s property.

Can I cancel my reservation for free?

For all reservations other than group bookings and non-refundable bookings, we have a 24h free cancelation policy. It is calculated from the check-in time (15:00) of the day of your arrival. If you cancel your reservation until 15:00 the day before you arrive, nothing will be charged.

I’ve decided not to stay; can I get a refund for the remaining nights not spent?

Our cancellation policy applies for the whole stay, so if you’re already in-house and decide to shorten your stay, the remaining nights will still be charged.

Is there Wi-Fi available?

We have free Wi-Fi available on every room of the hostel.

Does the hostel have car parking?

We don’t have our own car parking. However, there is street parking available all over our neighbourhood, a fee applies every day from 9:00 to 19:00 and it is free of charge on the weekends. There are also a few underground paid parking lots in the vicinity.

Am I required to provide an ID?

All guests, foreign and national, are required to provide a valid ID at the time of check in. For European citizens residing in the Schengen area, photo ID and drivers licence are valid. For all remaining countries, passport is required.
